Andreas Schierenbeck will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer at Hitachi Energy, while Claudio Facchin will resign from his position on June 30, 2024

Hitachi Energy has announced that Andreas Schierenbeck will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer starting July 1, 2024. Claudio Facchin, the current CEO, will be stepping down at the end of June 2024. Andreas will work closely with the Hitachi Energy Board, Executive Team, and Claudio to ensure a seamless transition before officially taking over on July 1, 2024.

Andreas comes to Hitachi Energy from HH2E, a green-hydrogen production company, where he serves as a co-founder and board member. Previously, he served as the CEO of Uniper from 2019 to 2021, overseeing the company’s decarbonization strategy. Before that, he led Thyssenkrupp Elevator’s transformation into a global leader in digital technology from 2013 to 2018. With a background at Siemens from 1992 to 2012, Andreas held various management roles, including President and CEO of Siemens Building Technologies in the US and Senior Vice President in the electric utility sector in Switzerland. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from TU Dresden and an Advanced Management Certificate from Harvard University. Andreas is a German citizen.
